The Harlequin Project

Harlequin exists to help locally based independent artists and groups to store, promote and publish their creative work, usually musical and theatre productions. Specially designed websites and production DVD's have been produced for a range of different organisations. The project is part of the consultancy and knowledge transfer work of the University of Chester.

Consultancy and knowledge transfer refer to the exchange of research, methods, skills and results developed in the University to industry, commerce, the public sector and the wider community. The overall aim is to facilitate the development of new products, policies or services and solutions to problems.

Recent study

The Chester Communities Together web site will officially be going live on 17/07/09. This local initiative was started by local community group committee member Martin Delaney in collaboration with The Harlequin Project.

Along with Pauline Mulliner (Administrator for the project) Work-based Learning students from the University of Chester helped establish site requirements and collect content for the site by going out into the field and communicating with community members. The site will feature up to date news and events, galleries and contact details for local committee members, shops and social venues, as well as information on local learning. The launch is on Friday July 17th so please check it out!
